‘Small Prophets’ comedy series lands on Apple TV globally
The first two episodes of the British show are streaming now, with new installments arriving weekly through Nov. 4.

9to5Mac reports that the comedy series “Small Prophets” is now available on Apple TV outside the U.K., after the streamer acquired it for international distribution earlier this year.
This is the first time Apple TV has bought an existing English-language show that already aired elsewhere. The series premiered in the U.K. on BBC iPlayer and BBC Two before Apple picked it up in August. In the U.K., subscribers will have to wait until 2027 to stream it on the service.
The show was created, written and directed by Mackenzie Crook (Detectorists), who also acts. The cast includes Pearce Quigley, Lauren Patel, Sir Michael Palin, Sophie Willan, Jon Pointing and Paul Kaye.
The plot follows Michael Sleep (Quigley), who has lived a quiet life since his partner Clea vanished seven years ago. When his father shares an old recipe involving rainwater and horse manure, Michael tries to create magical spirits that can predict the future, hoping they can answer whether he will see Clea again. He gets help from his younger coworker Kacey (Patel), which frustrates his nosy neighbors.
New episodes arrive every Wednesday through Nov. 4.
