iPhone Duo Startup Screen Can Say Your Name at Apple Stores
MacRumors reports Apple Stores in the U.S. can customize the iPhone Duo's first-boot greeting with the buyer's name.

Apple is adding a personal touch to the iPhone Duo's startup screen.
MacRumors reports that U.S. Apple Stores will have a system to show a buyer's name on the iPhone Duo's "Hello" screen, so the phone greets them when it first turns on.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman posted the detail on X, MacRumors notes. The personalization supports English and Spanish and is limited to the U.S. and the iPhone Duo. MacRumors expects the name option to be available for phones bought in person and for orders placed for in-store pickup.
The iPhone Duo goes on pre-order Oct. 16 at 5 a.m. PT and launches Oct. 23. Pricing starts at $1,999.
It's a small touch, but it can shape where you buy. If the personalized greeting matters, an Apple Store visit or in-store pickup is the route. If not, skip the trip.
