WhatsApp brings Liquid Glass look to video player
9to5Mac reports that Meta is rolling out the translucent redesign to the last major part of the app still using the old interface.

WhatsApp's Liquid Glass redesign is expanding again. 9to5Mac reports that the updated look is now arriving for the app's video player, after the change was spotted by WABetaInfo.
Meta first tested Liquid Glass in October 2025, but the official rollout didn't begin until May 2026. Since then, the company has gradually updated each part of WhatsApp, including the iPad app in June and the Mac app in July. The video player was one of the last sections still showing the previous interface.
The redesign gives the video player a translucent progress bar that floats at the top of the screen with rounded corners. In light mode the bar has a white, glass-like background; in dark mode it turns dark. Meta is also refreshing the control bar at the bottom for a more consistent look.
As with other Liquid Glass updates, the new video player may not reach everyone immediately. If you don't see it yet, check back in the coming weeks as the rollout continues.
