Japan-only Apple Watch challenge arrives Oct. 10

Log a 30-minute workout on October 10 to earn a virtual award and exclusive stickers, reports 9to5Mac.

Apple has announced a new Activity Challenge for Apple Watch users in Japan. 9to5Mac reports the challenge takes place on October 10.

To earn the award, users need to log any workout of at least 30 minutes in an app that writes data to Apple's Fitness app. That includes Apple Fitness+, which launched in Japan earlier this year. Completing the challenge unlocks a virtual achievement on the iPhone, Apple Watch and in Messages, plus exclusive stickers for Messages, FaceTime and other Apple apps.

The award is only available to participants in Japan. If you're there with an Apple Watch, mark the date.

Who this is for

This is for anyone in Japan with an Apple Watch who wants a free virtual badge. No purchase beyond the hardware you already own. The sticker pack is a nice bonus for frequent iMessage users.
