Best Buy, Walmart, Sony Counter Prime Day Sales

Amazon Prime Big Deal Days is nearly live, and as usual, other retailers are running their own sales to compete. MacRumors has rounded up the biggest ones from Best Buy, Walmart, and Sony, and there are steep discounts on TVs, headphones, and more.

Best Buy's Techtober sale

Best Buy's "Techtober" event is running sitewide right now. According to MacRumors, the savings go as high as $1,400 off select TVs from Samsung, Insignia, LG, and others. If you've been waiting for a new TV, this is a good week to check Best Buy.

Many items also have a free pickup option if you live near a Best Buy location that offers local pickup.

Walmart's event runs through Oct. 11

Walmart's Prime Day-style sale started today and will run through Oct. 11, MacRumors reports. It has similar offers on TVs, computers, and home appliances.

For Apple owners, the big one is the AirPods 4 at $79.00, down from $129.99. That's just $10 away from the all-time low price, and it's the model without active noise cancellation. MacRumors notes it's been months since a deal this steep on the AirPods 4 appeared.

Sony's fall sale: up to 50% off

Sony is hosting a fall sale with up to 50 percent off its headphones, speakers, sound bars, TVs, photography gear, and more. The standout is the WH-1000XM5 wireless noise-canceling headphones at $199.99, down from $399.99. MacRumors says the discounts are applied automatically, so no coupon codes are needed.

What to do today

Check the retailer websites directly for the full lineups. Best Buy's TV deals are worth a look if you're in the market, Walmart's AirPods 4 price is near its record low, and Sony's XM5 headphones at half price are hard to ignore.
