Imperfect Women returns for season 2 on Apple TV

Apple TV confirmed the limited series is coming back for a new chapter centered on Kerry Washington's character, Eleanor.

Apple TV announced today that "Imperfect Women," which premiered earlier this year as an eight-part limited series, will return for a second season "by popular demand."

The first season starred Elisabeth Moss, Kerry Washington, and Kate Mara, with a cast that also included Joel Kinnaman, Corey Stoll, and Leslie Odom Jr. The story, based on the Araminta Hall novel of the same name, followed three best friends whose bond is tested when a murder investigation reveals betrayals and shocking truths.

The new season will be set on Martha's Vineyard and revolve around Eleanor, played by Kerry Washington, who will reprise her role and serve as executive producer alongside Elisabeth Moss.

Matt Cherniss, Apple TV's head of programming, said the platform "jumped at the opportunity to expand the world of 'Imperfect Women'" through Washington's character. He called the new story, from Annie and Justin, "an exciting and natural next chapter."

Apple TV did not say when the second season will arrive, and the project appears to be in early development.

"Imperfect Women" season 1 is streaming now on Apple TV, which costs $14.99 per month or is included in the Apple One bundle.
