Apple TV 4K and HomePod leaks: AI, surround sound, profiles

Beta code reveals Apple Intelligence, Dynamic Island controls, and new profile images for upcoming home products.

Apple is expected to announce new Apple TV 4K and HomePod models next week, according to leaks reported by 9to5Mac. The latest beta software releases have revealed several features that may be included.

Apple Intelligence for Apple TV

9to5Mac reports that leaker Aaron Perris found references in tvOS 27.2 beta 3 indicating Apple Intelligence will come to Apple TV. The AI features, led by an updated Siri with Apple Intelligence, are expected to be exclusive to the new hardware.

Dynamic Island for HomeKit controls

Code in iOS 27.2 beta 3 suggests that nearby smart-home accessories will be able to display controls in the iPhone's Dynamic Island. 9to5Mac reports that a method referencing HomeKit's proximity manager was discovered.

Surround sound and profile images

Leaker pdfu found evidence of a surround sound feature for the HomePod, also reported by 9to5Mac. Additionally, Apple TV profiles will gain the ability to use characters from Apple TV shows and movies as profile images — think Ted Lasso or Severance characters. Profiles are also coming to iPhone and iPad for the first time in iOS 27.2.

None of these features are confirmed until Apple's announcement next week. If you're considering an Apple TV upgrade, wait for the official details. The new hardware appears aimed at making a smarter home hub, but the AI features may be locked to the latest models. For now, it's a "Wait" until we see the pricing and exact capabilities.
