Apple plans Oct. 13 event for Home hub, HomePod mini, Apple TV
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports the event will feature three new Home devices with Siri AI at the core.

Reported by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman: Apple is planning an event on Oct. 13 to introduce a long-awaited smart home hub with a screen, a new HomePod mini, and an updated Apple TV, according to 9to5Mac's coverage of Gurman's Power On newsletter.
The newsletter says all three devices will have Siri AI at their core. Gurman previously reported that these products would launch on Oct. 13 but did not mention an event. Now he says Apple is indeed planning an event for that date.
John Gruber had speculated that the rumored HomePad would require a keynote video and media event with hands-on demos, not just a press release. Gurman's latest report suggests that is what Apple intends.
If an event happens, press invitations would likely go out in the next day or so, unless new CEO John Ternus changes Apple's product introduction approach.
Rumor rating: Plausible, based on Gurman's track record. If you're in the market for a smart home hub or a new HomePod, wait for the event before making any purchase decisions.
